Ryan was born in Houston, Texas, grew up outside Boston, and graduated from Hamilton College in 2006 with degrees in English Literature and Theatre.
He lives in New York City with his wife, Emilia, and their daughter, Zena.

Ryan also developed the SELL IT ecosystem to bridge the skill gap in today’s gig and freelance economy. SELL IT offers practical tools and a vibrant community of over 30,000 sales professionals to empower the new wave of entrepreneurs and help others master the art of sales in any profession.
Central to Ryan’s beliefs is giving back and amplifying others’ success. He is committed to operating with purpose and supports causes focused on bettering housing equality, health, and the city of New York. He has donated and dedicated resources to City Harvest, Feeding America, the Ali Forney Center, the NYC Sanitation Foundation, and Project Sunshine. In 2021, Ryan was named the National Ambassador for the American Cancer Society’s “Real Men Wear Pink” initiative, a campaign that enlists men to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. Ryan wore pink every day in October, raised funds, and dedicated his global social platforms to spreading critical information to help fight the disease. In total, the 2021 campaign raised over $12 million.

Over the course of his career, Ryan has closed nearly $10B in sales and represented clients in record-breaking deals in New York and South Florida, including the sale of the most expensive home ever sold in the state of Florida for just under $140M. For more than a decade, Ryan led the # 1-ranked residential real estate sales team in New York City. In September 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and amid uncertain market conditions, Ryan decided to strike out on his own and launch his own brokerage.
SERHANT. is a content-to-commerce, mobile-first real estate ecosystem with a first-of-its-kind in-house film studio for organic lead generation, creating customer acquisition for its two core businesses: brokerage and education. In its first year of business, the firm solidified its position as one of the top real estate companies in New York City. It became the most followed real estate brand in the world, amassing over 6 million followers across all social platforms. Under Ryan’s leadership, SERHANT. has become one of the fastest-growing real estate firms in the United States.
